The first time that I heard about Bone Broth was on the Food Network.  They were at a New York restaurant called Brodo that had a walk up window where you could be a steamy cup of bone broth.  The first batch I made I used chicken feet a couple years ago.  That apparently set someone off, enough to have them write about me on GOMI, a blog I haven’t read in a long time, but basically if someone writes about you on that blog they want you to “get off my interent.”  People can disagree, and say “SOMI” or “stay on my internet.”

All I know is that it is delicious!  “bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing compounds like collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline. The collagen in bone broth heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation.”

I basically take two chicken carcasses and cover them in water.  I added whole chopped carrots, celery, two teaspoons of powdered chicken stock, 1 scoop of that collagen peptides below, and a tablespoon of peppercorns.  I just let that simmer for a couple hours.  Cool and remove all the chicken pieces and strain so that you are just left with the broth.  It just tastes like really rich chicken broth.  On the WW app it varies from being 0 points to 3, so I called mine three points.  I was so busy at work that I never ate the hard boiled egg and fruit I brought to go with it.

I have to say though, it kept me full until I met up my new friend Chris at Revival Food Hall.  She found me on the WW connect and has been following the blog for a while (hey Chris!).  She was super nice, the coversation flowed and we ate delicious ramen.  Holy balls, was this good.  The broth in this ramen is probably the best I’ve ever had.  Rich, spicy.  I think next time I’ll get the veggie ramen and ask them to make it spicy, because there weren’t any veggies in mine.  I got the chicken and tofu – and those marinated mushrooms?  Amazeballs.  I ate about half, and decided to call that 10 points.

Thanks for meeting up with me Chris!

I worked late last night.  I caught the 6:25 train home – I caught this view out of my bosses office just as I was leaving.

Oh, and here is the loot that Chris brought me!  Peppers, tomatoes, eggplant – carba-nada which I’ve heard good things about, and those baby watermelon looking things?  Those are Mexican sour cucumbers!

While I thought I would just add veggies to my ramen from lunch, I had a taste for Mexican, so made these 9 point tostadas using some of the fresh tomatoes.  So good.  I just put the tostadas in the toaster for about 30 seconds to warm and crisp up.  Um, I may have tried that at my old office one time, but walked away to go to the bathroom, and set off the fire alarm!  So don’t walk away when you toast your tostadas.  #themoreyouknow

Hannah and Jacob are meeting me for lunch today!  Guess where we are going?  Revival Food Hall!  I think I may get Antique Tacos – they have a potato and poblano taco – I’ve never had that before, but my daughter-in-law just posted her version on her YouTube channel here – cannot wait to make these at home.  Great job Liz!
