It was pretty funny standing on the train platform yesterday morning.  With temps in the low 50’s, there were some women who were clinging to summer wearing sleeveless dresses and sandals.  Right next to them were women with Ugg boots, full scarf around their neck and fingerless gloves.

Yesterday was such a busy day.  I never even made it to the gym last night and I still had close to 18,00o steps.  I never even ate my breakfast until nearly 10:30.  I don’t think my breakfast photo is going to win any food photography contests šŸ˜€  One point Joseph’s pita, egg whites (1), 1/2 ounce cheese (2) and watermelon.  4 points for breakfast.

My sister and I finally got together for a walk!  We walked along the River Walk – such a gorgeous day.

I posted this lunch picture on my Instastory yesterday and had half a dozen messages asking me for the recipe for this beef fried rice.  Well, there really isn’t a recipe, but I’ll describe it here too.  1.5 cups of coleslaw mix which I cooked for about two minutes, so it wilted a bit, but it was still crunchy, then I added 1/2 a cup of rice (3), three ounces of leftover beef from my sirloin roast, diced (3), and then used House of Tsang Szchewan sauce (1) and tossed it together.  That’s it šŸ˜€

I normally put my points into the WW app as I go along the day, but I was so busy I didn’t have time, so on my train ride home I realized I still had 19 points left for the day – no wonder I was so hungry on my way home!

I made batch 4,398 of Lasagna Soup!   This time I kind of deconstructed it.  The tomato base is fresh tomatoes that I cooked down with no additional fat, so that is zero points.  I cooked up 2 ounces of hot Italian sausage (6) and added 4 ounces of cooked rotini noodles (4) for a 10 point delicious bowl of goodness.  I also added shredded zucchini to this bowl as well.  I am sure I’ve mentioned this before, but if you make this soup, keep the noodles separate.  It makes it easy to count the points for one, but second, if you left the noodles in the soup they will be all mushy when you go to reheat it.  You could also save points by using turkey sausage, but my store had their homemade sausage on sale for $1.99 a pound and it’s delicious.

The moon last night was amazing!  I had to run to Walgreen’s to pick up a prescription after dinner, and I noticed it when I was getting back to my car.  Once I got home, I walked to the river and took this picture with my iPhone – no filter.  I sat there and looked at it for several minutes, just listening to the water.

Can we talk about my Walgreen’s trip?  There was a bit of a line for pick up, so I walked around the store, and before I knew it, I picked up a small bottle of wine and a 6 pack of $1 chocolate chip cookies.  WTF.  I think mentally I was like “I still have points left!”  Well, all my flex points were gone over the weekend with the extra wine I had so I really didn’t have the points.

I got home, started watching America’s Got Talent, and mindlessly had 3 glasses of wine and 3 cookies.  I was 12 points over for the day and finished the day with 42 points.  I don’t know why I do it.  But what’s interesting, is that a lot of other people I follow on Instagram do the same thing, so I am not alone.  In fact one of my fellow Weight Watcher Ambassadors had an 88 point evening “snack” all while tracking it, she still ate it even as she saw the points go up and up every time she put something in her mouth.  For the record, two pop tarts are 17 smart points. šŸ˜›

This morning I threw the rest of the cookies in the garbage.  I have bone broth, a hard boiled egg and fruit for breakfast this morning.  I am loving this latest batch of bone broth – I mostly drink it as a snack.  I am going to post my recipe for it tomorrow – perfect to make with a rotisserie chicken carcass.

I am having lunch today with a fellow WW who follows me on connect.  She realized that we live in the same area and sometimes actually take the same train to Chicago.   We are going to Revival Food Hall today so I am looking forward to that.

There is still time to leave a comment to my Blog Anniversary post – you can find it here.

Goals for the day:  15k steps, 100 ounces of water, no wine, gym after work.  Make it a great day!
