While I don’t have a scale that works because they are both broken, my sister tends to weigh herself pretty much every day.  But last week she decided to ditch the daily weigh ins, stuck with the program, didn’t get the chance to get discouraged if her scale was up a bit during the week, which can sometimes mess with your head – and she lost another pound this week!  Great job Jenn!  I think all of our steps are helping.  With my new walk to and from the train station, our lunch walks and just the walking around my office, I can easily get 17k steps a day.

I was happy to see a loss of 1.6! (*people on the Weight Watchers plan can expect to lose 1-2 pounds a week)(because I am a Weight Watcher Ambassador, I have to put that language in social media posts) 😀

My goal weight is 138, so I realized yesterday that I am half way to goal!  My short term goal is -3.2 to get to 155, which I can’t remember the last time I weighed that, then of course -4.8 which will get me to -25 pounds.

It’s just a reminder that you don’t have to be a slave to the gym to lose weight.  Walking is just fine!  I think all of last year my main reason for hitting the gym was to “undo” all the shit I put in my mouth.  I put that picture on Connect (WW’s social media on their app) and one woman said “You can never outrun your fork!”  So true!

Breakfast, while only 4 points, was really filling.  Hard boiled egg, fruit and a chocolate Premier protein.   The shake has 30 grams of protein and the egg has 6.  And the view isn’t too bad either!

I met my sister back at WW for the weekly meeting.  The topic was getting movement in when you can, and to find things that you like to do and not feel like you “have” to do it.  My least favorite piece of equipment at the gym?  Elliptical.  My feet fall asleep for some reason, and just not a fan, so pretty sure I won’t be spending any more time on that piece of equipment.

When I got back to my desk, I had stuff to do right away so heated up leftover pasta with sausage for 9 points.

So I am night secretary on Wednesday nights, but recently found out that our firm has a softball team that plays on Wednesday nights – fun!  Except no one would pick up my Wednesday night, or switch.  When I was going back and forth with the office manager about switching nights with someone, somehow I agreed to be night secretary on Thursday’s too.  Huh.  I realized I misread her email, when she asked if I could work Thursday’s I thought that meant in place of Wednesday, but what I agreed to was to take both days.

It’s all good though – I only have to stay if someone signs up, and it’s overtime so $$$.  Just two hours overtime at the law firm is what I used to make all day at The Chopping Block 😛

Hannah texted me to ask when I was coming home.  She said she would be grilling, and not to worry about dinner and that she was making side salads too.  So sweet.

I love how pretty the city looks on my way home from work at 7 p.m.  My train was running 15 minutes late, so I got home at 9.

So for someone who doesn’t eat much meat, especially chicken, Hannah cooked these chicken wings to perfection.  She put a spicy rub on the outside, grilled potatoes with leeks (I had 2 points worth) and she made kind of a mock Portillo’s chopped salad, which I had with light balsamic dressing.  That plate came in at 12 points, bringing me to 29/30 for the day.

I’d thank Hannah for her to read here, but she told me that since she’s moved back in with me, she doesn’t read my blog anymore because “she lives it.”  ðŸ˜€

I am so excited because I am working at The Chopping Block tomorrow!  It’s the Big Green Egg Kickoff and we’ll be serving up pulled pork, pizza, sausages and vegetables.  And we’ll be having raffles to win free cooking classes.  If you are in the Lincoln Square area tomorrow between 10-5, stop by and say hello!

Then Sunday I am doing the Crop Walk with my Mom.  I am still looking for donations, no amount is too small.  Shout out to Lynne and Lisa who already donated – thanks guys!  You can click on this link here.

Hope you have a great weekend – make it a great day!
