I neglected to mention that I slept for 12 hours on Saturday night!  I didn’t get out of bed until 10:30, and I seriously could have slept until noon.

Tony made me another one of his delicious breakfasts – eggs on a corn tortilla with my baja fresh salsa, cheese and tater tots on the side.

I made my grocery list, went to the store and scored on some basil!

All those containers cost me . . .

Yep – $1 for all when they are normally $1 each. 😀  I was going to make pesto, but didn’t have any pine nuts – so I subbed in almonds instead – its delicious!

  • 2 cups basil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 ounce almonds
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • cracked pepper
  • salt
just throw everyone in the pool and puree

Tony had picked up this hot dog sauce when we were at Fresh Market.  I instantly remembered that Mary Beth made some Coney island sauce, which I need to try soon!

I had a Ball Park Turkey hot dog with this sauce – it was really spicy!  Almost too spicy for Tony.

it was delicious - I microwaved the bun to get it "steamed." This was around 325 calories - not too bad!

After Hannah got home from work, we heated out to go bowling.  Mind you, I used to be on a bowling team when I was in my early 20’s.  My average used to be about 220.  Well, after bowling about once every three years, um, let’s just say its not that great anymore!

I had a $25 dollar gift card – to bowl two games, for two people is $28 dollars, so our games only cost $3!

Look at my professional grip - not!
Hannah kind of twists the ball when she throws it - no two rolls are the same!

My first game is always the best – I bowled a 142 – the second game was 125.  Hannah hadn’t had much to eat so we split an order of mozzarella balls:

And upon hearing that I had beef stew in the oven, ordered this pear salad – I had a bite of it and it was really good!

We had so much fun, just being goofy.  I love how I can make her laugh at the drop of a hat!

thanks for hanging with me Hanners! 😀

I had asked Hannah to write down anything she needed at the store.  She wrote down “onions.”   I had no idea what that meant, so right now, in my refrigerator is . . . a white onion, a yellow onion and scallions!   I am pretty sure that is a first in my house!

Later on Hannah made a baked potato and diced up some chives.  I just wanted the world to know that a mother’s love is greater than her hate of onions!

When Hannah and I got home from bowling, I immediately went to check on my beef stew.  One problem – the pot wasn’t even hot!  I had set the oven for 275, but I must have turned it off somehow.  It had only been cooking 30 minutes before we left.  I ended up finishing it on top of the stove and we didn’t eat until 8:00!

Good News and Bad News:

Good News:  Hannah found my cell phone!!   She normally parks her car in our front yard – we have no garage, and just one long driveway.  When I got out of her car last Monday, it must have fallen out of my bag – it had been in my lawn for 6 days!  Thanks Hannah!

Now onto the bad news:

Yep – an all time high for me.  I have realized that lately I haven’t written down everything I’ve eaten, had an extra handful of almonds, an extra piece of cheese, a bowl of pretzels before bed.  It’s now back to basics – especially since I’ve joined Steve’s Hot 100!

So goals for this week:

  • minimum 60 minutes total exercise per day
  • minimum 64 ounces of water
  • track all my food
  • no alcohol

I am going to be getting inspiration from my friend Shelley – who just ran a 10 mile race on Saturday!  Check out her recap here.  I am so proud of her!

And Happy Birthday to my Dad.  If he were still alive, he would have been 72 years old today!  I did a tribute to his 70th birthday – you can meet him here.

Alright, my game face is on – whose with me this week?
