Okay, I think Tony has about had it with party pizza Friday.  I never mention what’s for dinner on Friday’s because I already know that I am going to make pizza!  So I was bringing up the stand mixer from the basement and he asks “what’s for dinner?”  I hem and haw, but then meekly say “deep dish sausage pizza?”   While I could eat pizza every day and never get sick of it, I think Tony is done with pizza for a while – but at least I went out with a bang – this one was delicious!!

But I am sure you are waiting with anticipation as to “what did Biz eat for breakfast and lunch??” 😀

low carb wrap, 1 egg, 1 oz. swiss cheese and 1 oz. corned beef wrap
and a kiwi on the side: Breakfast: 358 calories, 21 fat, 25 carbs, 25 protein, 10 fiber and 673 sodium

One kiwi has 3 grams of fiber! And thanks to the corned beef, my breakfast was kind of high in sodium.

Lunch was the rest of my Mexican Soup – which I am happy to say is only 80 calories a cup, 4.5 grams of fat, 7 carbs, 5 protein and 1 fiber.

I had two cups with 1.5 ounces of tortilla chips – I dipped the chip into the soup, then splashed Tabasco on each bite = heaven!

Lunch: 373 calories, 20 fat, 41 carbs, 13 protein, 6 fiber (2,085 sodium!!)

Yep – the chicken broth put me over the edge in the sodium department, but this was really good!

I used my Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza Dough.   While it was mixing it was still kind of sticking to my mixing bowl, so I added 1 tsp. of olive oil and it worked like a charm – look how clean my bowl is after the kneading!

I am actually curious how this dough would taste if I actually let it rise – I was impatient last night and only let it rest 15 minutes before rolling it out.

my side: red pepper, sausage and bacon - Tony's: add mushrooms and green olives

Damn Diners, Drive-Inns and Dives.  We recently saw an episode where they went to a pizza place and they had a LAYER of sausage in their deep dish pizza.  I made a giant patty of sausage, browned it on both sides then used my rolling pin to make it into a big circle.   I added the sausage on top of the ingredients above, then finished off with my pasta sauce and more cheese.

I forgot to take a picture in the pizza!
two olives on the right so I knew which side was Tony's

Baked at 425 for 20 minutes – let cool at least five minutes.

it was really hard to wait to cut into this!!

Look how cheezy!!

I could be over estimating, but my guess is that 1/4 of this pizza comes in at 788 calories, 40 fat, 82 carbs, 25 protein, 0 fiber, 1,676 sodium.   But because I had low calories for breakfast and lunch, it all worked out.

Stats for Friday

  • 1,519 calories
  • 81 fat (oops – 45% of my calories were from fat!) 🙁
  • 148 carbs
  • 63 protein
  • 15 fiber
  • 4,433 sodium (2 times the recommended amount)
  • 40 minute jog on the treadmill
  • 5 minutes abs

A glance back on this weeks food – not enough fruits and veggies – I think I may have to go back to having big side salads at lunch – that is going to be on my radar next week.

I have lot’s of new things to try too thanks to you guys!

First up – Devon from Traveling Taste Buds made this Wonder Paste – you have to see it to believe it.  Luckily my store carries cilantro for 3 bunches for a dollar!  I plan on adding this to wraps and maybe even my egg wraps next week!

Next, Christy from the Actors Diet had Two Peas cater her whole day worth of meals.  One of the items in her day was a Wheat Berry Salad that I am going to try to recreate.  Ellie Krieger has a salad similar that is on my menu for lunch next week – thanks for the idea Christy!

Then Laura had an Amy’s tortilla and black bean frozen dinner that looked really good!  I have a vegetarian recipe I am going to try out for my lunch next week too – I am hoping it freezes well, because I don’t think Tony or Hannah would like this – lots of green chiles!

Other Peeps to Check Out:

RobinSue – quite possibly a genius because she now serves dinner at breakfast and eats breakfast for dinner!  You have to check this out!

Shelley kicked ass this week with her workouts – she continues to inspire me on a daily basis – check out her bruises too!

And Cathy made this amazing creamy warm bacon dip – this may show up on Superbowl Sunday!  Calories don’t count that day do they?

I sent my Jillian DVD to Faith for winning last week’s BSI – she’s from upstate New York, somewhere I have never been.

So my question of the day?  Where are you from? You don’t have to be too specific, a state will do!

Don’t forget that Val is hosting BSI this week – mushrooms!  You have until Sunday night to submit your entrees – I have to get going on that!!
