Before I get on to our delicious steak, even though I didn’t feel like it, I ended up doing Level 3 of Day 26 of 30 day shred!  Would you like to see how my dog helps me?

Yep, he laid right in front of my mat!! As soon as I started jumping jacks, he quickly exited the room!

None of the pictures of the blue cheese sauce turned out very well – see what I mean?

Mushroom Blue Cheese Sauce

  • 1 tsp. oil
  • 3 ounces chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup fat free half and half
  • 2 ounces crumbled blue cheese
  • cracked pepper

Cook mushrooms in oil until softened.  Add broth, half and half and cracked pepper.  Cook over medium-low heat until sauce begins to thicken.  Off heat add blue cheese until it slightly melts.  Spoon over grilled steak.

I got this giant sirloin steak for only $4.23! Tony and I split this, and I still have 1/3 of it leftover

I made another batch of the artisan bread – this time with yeast that was fresh!

so simple, yet so good!

perfect every time!

And then with the rest of the dough I decided to make a sesame bread for my Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for later in the week – this only took about 24 minutes to bake.

I think this will make amazing sammies!

I am still working on the pasta sauce from my deluxe tomato purchase – the problem with making sauce from scratch is that you never know how your tomatoes will be – this batch is on the sour side, so I may have to add cooked carrots to try to make the sauce sweeter.

Off to watch t.v. with Tony – Celebrity Apprentice is our guilty t.v. pleasure!  See you tomorrow!
