Tony looked online and said that our town officially got 7.2 inches of snow overnight last night!   But by mid-afternoon, the sun was shining and the melting began!

While I was sitting at our computer this morning, this big fat bird was sitting right outside the window on our gazebo, and wouldn’t you know every time I tried to take a picture of it, it flew away!   But when Hannah and I were leaving to go to the grocery store, I got this pic!

I described it to Tony and he said that the birds with colorful breasts are actually males to attact the ladies!

I am pretty much a sucker for tree pictures, sunset pictures, sunrise pictures. . . .

But before we went to the store I was doing an inventory and realized I had one more portion of pizza dough in the fridge so that’s what Hannah and I had for lunch.  She had broccoli and sausage!  I had shredded zucchini and green pepper with an ounce of sausage.  My dough weighed in at 4 ounces, so my whole pizza was 504 calories, 14 fat and 71 carbs.

This pizza dough is probably just about 2 weeks old and we loved it! It had a very yeasty taste and mine was cracker crispy!

And I found this jalapeno pepper that was on the bottom of the veggie drawer - I guess I can use it like a dried pepper?

We did a great grocery shop – I’ll have to show the pictures tomorrow.  I would show you tonight, but while I cleaned this morning, it apparently wasn’t up to Hannah’s standards and now our house is spotless.  She even finished all our laundry and folded all of my clothes and they are perfectly divided between workout shirts, work shirts, work pants, etc.  She has a gift!   But sometimes its hard to get her to stop!  So while I would like to bring out my grocery loot, I think she may have a mild heart attack if I mess up the perfect kitchen!

Let’s just say that Sunday is the best $1 day!  I got approximately 20 tomatoes for $3 and about 15 red peppers forf $3.  I plan on making pasta sauce with the tomatoes and roasted red pepper soup with the peppers.  Again, I would start some of that tonight, but I’ll wait until tomorrow!

Can I just say that I am having a hard time finding QUINOA?!  Look at the price at my ethnic grocery store!

Isn't that price crazy??

So we get back from the store, and now the snow is melting, I know the roads are okay and make a decision to hop in the car and bring dinner for me and Tony at the hospital.  He didn’t know I was coming so I think he was startled by that!   I came in the knick of time – this is what they served him:

the potatoes tasted like the boxed kind you just add water to, and the "roast beef" and the texture of a leather belt

I made a sub sandwich for Tony, while I made a sammie out of the beer bread that Hannah made.  I love that this bread is slightly sweet!

2 ounces of beer bread, 1.5 ounces of corned beef, 1 ounce of reduced fat Alpine Lace swiss cheese. I also had a serving of baked potato chips (not shown). Dinner comes in at 470 calories, 15 fat and 53 carbs

So Hannah gave me this for Christmas, so I have to officially cross the closet clean off my list!

Thanks for all your hard work today Hanners!

Hope everyone had a good Sunday!  We are still not sure when Tony is coming home, so we are taking it day by day.  Again, thanks for all of your wonderful comments and concern – we BOTH appreciate it!!!

See you tomorrow!
